Jalapeño Popper Cups Recipe
Jalapeño Popper Cups are a bite-sized, creamy, spicy, and cheesy appetizer perfect for parties or snacks. This recipe brings together the delicious flavors of jalapeño poppers in a convenient and easy-to-make phyllo or wonton cup.
Ingredients
- 12 wonton wrappers or phyllo cups
- 4 oz (113g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 jalapeños, finely diced (remove seeds for less heat)
- 2 strips of cooked bacon, crumbled (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Non-stick cooking spray
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray a mini muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray.
2. Prepare the Cups
- If using wonton wrappers, gently press one wrapper into each muffin tin cup, shaping them to form a bowl.
- For pre-made phyllo cups, skip this step and place them on a baking sheet.
3. Mix the Filling
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, diced jalapeños, crumbled bacon (if using), garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth and evenly combined.
4. Fill the Cups
Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the cheese and jalapeño mixture into each prepared wonton or phyllo cup.
5. Bake
- Place the muffin tin or baking sheet in the preheated oven.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges of the wonton wrappers are golden brown and the cheese filling is bubbling.
6. Cool and Serve
Allow the jalapeño popper cups to cool for a few minutes before removing them from the tin. Serve warm as a delicious appetizer or snack.
Tips
- Adjust the spiciness by adding or reducing the amount of jalapeños or including their seeds.
- For extra flavor, sprinkle chopped chives or parsley on top before serving.
- You can prepare the filling ahead of time and assemble the cups just before baking.
Enjoy these creamy, cheesy, and spicy treats with friends and family! 🌶️🧀
